With Jane Dockerill
In today’s masterclass on Understanding how shame shapes us, Jane Dockerill talks us through this universal emotion. We discuss: What is shame and how many emotions does it relate to – discussing shame can show itself as anger, loneliness, jealousy, rejection and abandonment.
Understanding this allows growth past pain into a place of peace, and lets you
use the lessons you’ve learnt to heal, by reframing the language we use when speaking to
ourselves into messages of compassion.
Jane Dockerill is the mother to a blended family with 5 children, so she fully understands the full spectrum of emotions that come with that! Throughout her career, Jane has focused on helping both individuals and families – working front-line with a Child Protection team, helping the county’s most vulnerable families. She also spent time working in a mental health unit for young people, and spent eight years working with the Government on their Sure Start Children’s Centre Model, and helped establish the Home School Link Worker role within primary and secondary schools.
In 2020 Jane consolidated 25 years of working with people and supporting change by becoming an NLP Life Coach, and uses her skills to support those moving through change, both in difficult and exciting time
